Post Five keys to the fall: Oklahoma State
Kendall Rogers has been running down the Big 12 teams and what they will need to do in the fall to get ready for Spring.

Quote:
Oklahoma State would love nothing more than to leave little doubt in the spring.

First, though, that means the Cowboys must have a productive fall.

The Cowboys compiled a respectable 34-24 record last season, but were one of several teams entrenched in controversy because they reached an NCAA regional. You know, the squad that finished ninth in the Big 12 last season.

OSU competed in the Clemson Regional and needed only to defeat host Clemson once before the Tigers knocked them off in consecutive games to advance to the Tempe Super Regional.

I have been an OSU supporter for years. They still are able to secure better than average talent but this might be a make it or break it year. Their facilities are falling way behind compare to other Big 12 facilities and other geographic facilities. I fear that their recruiting efforts are going to get more and more difficult. Arkansas has fantastic facilities. Mizzou is renovating almost annually. Wichita State put in new field turf. TT has new field turf. Missouri State has the Hammonds Field. Though Allie Reynolds is functioning, the upkeep is not very good and the indoor hitting facilities are below average. Unless they upgrade in the next year or two they run the risk of losing alot of home grown talent. Look how many kids from Oklahoma are on the rosters at Mizzou, Missouri State, WSU and Arkansas. OSU used to get all those kids.

As far as the team is concerned for 2010. They got hit by the draft but Anderson is a good coach. They should be very competitive but I question their pitching depth. I think last season's in conference play might not be a fluke. If they win big it will be because of the coaching.

Tulsa,

No disrespect here but OK State really shouldn't have been in the NCAA Tourney with the resume they had.

Even Oklahoma has gotten better as they hosted a Regional last season.
